Welcome

On behalf of the children, staff and governors, welcome to Gentleshaw Primary School’s website.

Gentleshaw Primary school has been situated on the edge of Cannock Chase since 1878. During this time, our school has been at the heart of the community and children, staff, parents and governors all value being part of our family. Through our ethos and community links, we aim for our children to become ambitious, successful and responsible citizens.

At Gentleshaw we strive to embed a love of learning amongst our pupils resulting in our children becoming inquisitive, self-motivated and confident learners with high aspirations. By leading exciting and engaging lessons, with quality teaching, guidance and support, we aim for all of our children to achieve their potential both personally and academically.

We believe that children flourish when the relationships between school, parents and carers is strong. Consequently, we place a great importance upon communication and there are regular opportunities for parents and carers to take part in their child’s learning and celebrate success and achievement.

In addition, at Gentleshaw a rich curriculum inspires and engages our pupils. Through creativity, academic subjects, a variety of sports, specialist music teaching and the arts, we work to create opportunities for children to strive in all areas and have a variety of experiences, creating memories to last a lifetime.

We extend our welcome to you and encourage you to visit our school to experience the happy and purposeful environment we have created and are so proud to be part of.

Best Regards

In our opinion this is a very special and sophisticated school and will be perfect for your child.

Gentleshaw is special because it has a beautiful environment bursting with nature. We are right next door to the well-known area Cannock Chase. Our amazing school has been here since 1878 making it 138 years old!

Our teachers are caring and supportive and that’s how we like them. They make lessons fun and help us to achieve our personal best! We look up to them because they are great role models. Our school is also a dyslexia friendly environment so if you are dyslexic you will fit right in and get any help you need.

Thank you for reading our opinions on this fabulous school. We know that you will really like Gentleshaw.
